Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Surgical, post-operative, and early ambulation experience preferred.
Special Requests: - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. - Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. - Block scheduling may be considered if unit needs are met. - RTO must be requested upfront; 7 or fewer days may be requested per 13-week contract. Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions. - Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
Unit Details: - Patient population includes total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery (laparoscopic appendectomy and bowel resection), bariatric surgery, medical overflow, colostomies, and frequent hemovac and JP drains. Gynecology patients go to maternity, and cardiac med-surg/telemetry patients go elsewhere. - Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. - Common therapies include occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN. - Patient care tech support is available. - Nasal cannula is used for respiratory support, and respiratory therapy performs treatments. - Remote telemetry packs are used, and a monitor tech reads and interprets the monitoring. - A charge nurse is present on both shifts; on nights, the charge nurse occasionally takes a low-acuity assignment. - Bedside shift report is expected.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - Holidays as needed. - If days/nights rotate, 7-7 rotation will not occur more than weekly. - The manager makes the schedule.
Floating Requirements: - You will be first to float to medical and telemetry; someone will assist with strips there while you take medical patients in that area.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
