Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• 3 months of travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.
• ADN completion required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Indiana license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >40 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: 1 travel assignment required. Recent Epic experience required.
Unit Details: Post-surgical population including Whipple procedures, vascular cases, pre-/post-heart caths, bariatric, ENT, podiatry, open abdomen cases, dementia, altered mental status, CIWA/detox, fall risks, and thyroid surgeries. Expected skills/procedures include PIV insertion, chest tube and indwelling drain management, CBI, stable drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, ostomy care, blood product administration, telemetry interpretation, wound care (packing, wound vacs, dressing changes), and pre-/post-heart cath care (Fem./TR bands/no interventions). Unit ratios: days 1:5-6; nights 1:6-7; charge nurse takes a patient assignment. Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires.
Shift & Scheduling: Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday. Flexible contract hours: 48 per week upon request.
Floating Requirements: First to float within skillset. Float targets include Deaconess Newburgh (IN, 8 miles away) and potentially Deaconess Henderson (KY, 11 miles away). 2 hour notice given for cross-campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus; cross-campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
Proof of identification required
