Job description

Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: - Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. - Must have heparin gtt experience.
Special Requests: - Block scheduling may be accommodated if staffing permits.
Unit Details: - Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on day shift and 1:5-6 on nights. - Common patient populations include stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, neuroscience, and some medical overflow. - RNs titrate drips, including heparin based on PTT. - High-flow oxygen is used for stable COVID patients only; COVID cases are rare on this unit. - House-wide telemetry is used; nurses do not need to read strips. Philips monitors are used.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend is required; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend for both shifts. - Every other holiday is required. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Float in rotation with the rest of the staff. - A general-unit traveler floats to the general-unit floor and takes a full team. - If floated outside the general unit for an urgent need, the traveler performs only skills they are competent to perform and is assigned with a nurse trained for that unit.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
