Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Cerner is preferred.
Requirements:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: 2-3 years experience in specialty. Must have tele experience as well.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Pediatric experience preferred; if the traveler does not have that experience, they will not take pediatric patients.
Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Unit Details: The unit serves adult and pediatric medical-surgical telemetry patients. Common diagnoses/types of patients include med-surg patients, COPD, post-op, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, ortho, sepsis, altered mental status, chest pain rule-outs, stroke, cellulitis, and ETOH withdrawal. RNs titrate heparin drips. Common titratable or set-rate drips include heparin and Protonix. Nurses do not need to know how to read and interpret telemetry strips. Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen. A hospitalist is available, but not 24/7. The unit is very fast-paced, with patients moving in and out quickly and an average length of stay of 3 days.
Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is allowed to some degree. Schedules are made out approximately 30-45 days in advance. Weekend requirement: every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. Holiday requirement: work into permanent staff rotation. There is a call or standby requirement.
Floating Requirements: The nurse is first to float. Nurses may float to Tele or OB if they want to and have experience in those areas.
Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
