Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 24 months (2 years).
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• 12 months of acute care experience with 12 months within the last 24 months (2 years).
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living • COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Medical declinations accepted.
• Staff, Part-Time, and Per Diem employees currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.
Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.
Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: IV skills. Telemetry monitoring. Required documentation.
Required Credentials: PALS is required to care for pediatric patients, but is not mandatory for medical-surgical travelers.
Special Requests: Travel Pairs are not accepted.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend.
Unit Details: Patient ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. Patient population includes medical-surgical orthopedic, general surgery, and urology patients; common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, and pneumonia. Pediatric patients are admitted to the general floor. Equipment includes Plum pumps, Pyxis, Ascom phones, a bladder scanner, an EKG machine, and a Philips cardiac monitor.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager reference required from within the last 2 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
