Shift: 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• 3 months of Epic experience is preferred.
• ADN completion required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Iowa license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• COVID booster required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
An interview with the unit manager may not be available prior to offer. If you do not interview with the unit manager, you may interview with a third-party clinical nurse manager.
Required Skills/Experience: Must have taken care of someone younger than the age of 18. Ability to work in charge nurse capacity as back-up.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous charge experience is strongly preferred.
Required Credentials: Associate degree or certificate.
Unit Details: Med/Surg average daily census is 8 - 10; patients are primarily skilled-care, acute, observation, and same-day surgical patients. The Med/Surg floor occasionally has a pediatric patient. Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3-4, with up to 1:5.
Shift & Scheduling: The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday rotation. The schedule typically rotates 1 - 2 weeks of night shifts followed by at least a couple of days in between and then 1 - 2 weeks of day shifts. Depending on staffing needs, a clinician may be scheduled primarily on days for a full 6-week schedule and then on nights for the next 6-week schedule; shifts are not typically flipped within the same week without discussing it with staff. The manager is open to an every-weekend candidate or a day/night variable candidate for one of the open needs. On-call is only assigned if the clinician agrees due to low census; call-back occurs only in an emergency and requires a 30-minute response time.
Floating Requirements: Float to like units as needed.

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years
1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months
