Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Surgical experience, postoperative experience, and early ambulation experience preferred.
Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Block scheduling may be considered if unit needs are met. RTO must be requested upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI or Dignity, is not accepted.
Unit Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. Patients include total joint replacement, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery (laparoscopic appendectomy and bowel resection), bariatrics, and medical overflow. Hemovac and JP drains are frequently encountered, and colostomies are managed on the unit. Occasional heparin drips, PCA pumps, and TPN are used. Remote telemetry packs are used, with monitor technicians reading and interpreting strips. A charge nurse is present on both shifts; at night, the charge nurse occasionally takes a low-acuity assignment. Gynecological patients go to maternity, and cardiac medical-surgical/telemetry patients go to the cardiac MS/Telemetry unit.
Shift & Scheduling: Day shifts run . Every other weekend. Holidays as needed. If day/night rotation occurs, 7-7 rotation will not occur more than weekly.
Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float. When floating to medical and telemetry units, someone will assist with strips there, and the clinician will take medical patients in that area.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
