Job description
Role: Performs diagnostic laboratory testing on various specimens, demonstrating clinical competencies in laboratory procedures.
Responsibilities:
Conducts and analyzes a range of laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
Prepares reagents, standards, and controls as per protocols.
Maintains and calibrates laboratory instruments.
Researches and develops new procedures when assigned.
Adheres to safety, hospital, and departmental policies.
Utilizes computer systems for daily operations.
Assists in training new staff and students.
Contributes to team efforts, quality improvement, and department productivity.
Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field preferred.
Certification eligibility in Medical Laboratory Science (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent).
Experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, or Urinalysis is preferred.
Training from the U.S. Military or accredited programs considered.
