Job description
Role Overview: Performs quality diagnostic laboratory testing on various specimens, demonstrating clinical competencies, preparing reagents, calibrating instruments, and analyzing tests efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Conducts and analyzes laboratory tests, ensuring accuracy and timely results.
Prepares reagents, standards, and controls following established procedures.
Maintains and calibrates laboratory instruments per protocols.
Researches and develops new procedures as assigned.
Adheres to safety, hospital, department, and personnel policies.
Utilizes computer skills for laboratory and hospital information systems.
Supports team efforts, contributes to quality improvement, and assists in training new staff and students.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related field required.
ASCP certification eligibility preferred; additional pathways include military medical lab training or foreign equivalencies.
Experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, or Urinalysis is preferred.
