Job description

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon. Position Summary
Under the direction of the laboratory manager, is responsible for performing laboratory tests, quality control procedures and communication with physicians, nurses and patients.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education Bachelors degree in Medical Technology or a related filed required.
Must be board eligible by NCA or ASCP and complete board certification within one year of employment.
Minimum Experience One to three years of related or progressively more responsible experience in chemistry, blood bank, hematology and microbiology or formal student internship.
License, Certification, Registration Certification at MT by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or CLS by National Accrediting Agency (NCA) within one year of employment.
Equipment/Tools Clinical laboratory instrumentation.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills Laboratory generalist.
Supervisory Responsibilities Must be capable of working independently and providing direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants.
