We are a family of YBGR staff providing services to youth throughout Montana, working to change the trajectory of children's lives - to help them heal and recover!

Overview

Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Medication Assistant will assist with self-administration of routine medications to residents. The Medication Assistant will also monitor residents for change in condition of the resident's physical or mental condition and report to the nurse. The Medication Assistant will be required to take vital signs and weights of the residents. Other duties as assigned within in the scope of practice of a Certified Nurse Aide.

The schedule for this position is Saturday and Sunday 7:00am to 10:00pm.

Starting Salary Range: $19.21 - $21.62 per hour. Salary reflects steps 1-5 of an 11-step pay schedule. The starting salary will be determined based on the applicant's education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Provide routine medications to youth as prescribed in accordance with applicable YBGR policies and procedures, laws, statutes, licenses, and/or certifications.

Monitor youth's physical or mental condition and report to the nurse.

Take vital signs, weights, heights on youth.

Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization, both individually and as a team member.

Deal constructively and helpfully with all other members of the organization.

Fully support and model the mission and values of YBGR.

Adhere to all policies, systems, safety requirements, and procedures of the organization.

Take the initiative to identify problems and seek out solutions.

Be a professional representative of the organization to those outside it.

Participate and engage in monthly supervision/coaching meetings with the supervisor.

Be aware of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the persons served.

Participate in required training as appropriate to the position and beneficial to YBGR.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements 21 years old or older.

Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.

High School Diploma or GED.

Must complete and pass the YBGR Medication Aide Course within 30 days of hire date.

Required Abilities/Skills: Ability to competently perform duties of Medication Assistant within the scope of license as a Medication Aide I.

Display regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work.

Ability to relate and build rapport with youth while serving as a positive role model for the youth.

Excellent time management skills, organizational skills and flexibility.

Good computer skills and able to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions.

Good judgment and decision-making skills.

Demonstrate being self-motivated, self-disciplined, and diligent with forward thinking.

Demonstrate the ability to think of their team over self and define success collectively rather than individually.

The ability to effectively interact and communicate with others. These skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships, collaborating with colleagues, resolving conflicts, and navigating various social situations.
