Description

The Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Professor (non-tenure eligible), with an anticipated start date of March 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community.

The successful candidate will be expected to devote the majority of their work towards research and discovery in gerontology, focusing on sarcopenia and cachexia. The base salary range for this position at the Research Assistant Professor rank will be $7,917–$8,750 per month ($95,004–$105,000 per year) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

The Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine is a collaborative, multidisciplinary community of more than 50 faculty, fellows, researchers, and staff working across five major clinical sites in Seattle: UW Medical Center–Montlake, Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center–Northwest, the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. Our mission is to integrate excellence in clinical care, research, and education. We are recognized for strong research productivity, publishing in high-impact journals across the field of gerontology. Committed to a collaborative and inclusive environment, we advance innovation through strategic research infrastructure while delivering equitable, high-quality care to the communities we serve.
