Job description
Cone Health is seeking a compassionate MedSurg/Tele/Oncology RN to deliver high-quality care to diverse adult patients in an acute care setting. In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient-centered care while managing complex conditions across medical-surgical, telemetry, and oncology populations. You will monitor cardiac rhythms, administer medications and infusions, support symptom management, and educate patients and families. Provide direct nursing care to MedSurg, Telemetry, and Oncology patients following Cone Health clinical protocols
Administer medications, treatments, and infusions; monitor and interpret vital signs and telemetry data
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document accurately in the EMR
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team to develop and update care plans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge plans
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and participate in rapid response situations
Maintain infection control, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
Precept and mentor new nurses and support staff as needed
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects
Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure continuity of care
Acute care nursing
Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Oncology nursing and chemotherapy precautions
IV therapy and infusion management
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation
Patient assessment and clinical judgment
Medication administration and safety
Care planning and discharge planning
Patient and family education
Infection prevention and control

Active RN license in NC or compact state
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred or obtained after hire
