Job description
Job TitleThe purpose of this position is to melt the elements used to produce the alloy required for the production of rare earth magnets and to crush alloy in preparation for the ball milling and jet milling operations.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAdhere to required safety precautions: HydrogenMaterial handling (lift up to 25 lbs.)Nitrogen/Argon gasesClean and prepare furnaces and work area to set standards.Accurately weigh material as specified for melt load amount/alloy type and transfer material into the furnace.Organize raw material so that correct material lots are used.Identify flaws in coil boxes and crucibles.Repair coil boxes and crucibles when necessary.Perform required preventative maintenance.Continually monitor furnace for melt accuracy.Meet established production rates and quality standards.Verify and accurately record data into ERP computer system, manufacturing routers, logs, databases and control charts.Perform in process inspection as required.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.1-2 years of manufacturing experience.Ability to read and interpret part prints.Basic troubleshooting skills.Successful Essential BehaviorsAction-oriented and independent with a heightened sense of urgency to work at a quick pace.Demonstrates creativity in problem-solving and making connections among different ideas.Maintains high standards of accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulations.Collaborative team player who supports and assists colleagues effectively.Upholds organizational values and exhibits integrity in all aspects of work.Committed to continuous improvement and personal development.Demonstrates a proactive and positive attitude toward achieving goals.Work Environment and Physical DemandsWorks in a clean, well-lit production environment; requires protective footwear and eyewear.Regularly stands on cement floors with rubber mats; may involve sitting, stooping, bending, and walking.Capable of lifting and transporting an average weight of 10 lbs., up to a maximum of 40 lbs.Requires manual dexterity and near visual acuity.Ability to understand verbal instructions and comply with quality and safety regulations.Weekend Shift - Friday through Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 36 hours
