Metal Stamping Manufacturing SupervisorFlex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 10th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in "Automotive News." A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals.The Metal Stamping Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for supervising operations to ensure production is operating in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Responsible for productions schedules and posting of daily work assignments based upon production needs and individual strengths. Must be shop floor orientated and provide "hands-on" product/process support for all reports on a daily basis. This individual will be the driver behind product/process safety, quality, delivery and morale. Accountable for continuous improvement of assigned department as well as training and development of direct reports.Job DutiesSupervise, plan and coordinate Metals Stamping operations on assigned shift to maintain production schedules, quality and cost standards, and maximize efficiency.Ensure quality of work, efficient material and work flow, proper use and care of equipment and machines, and proper application of production methods.Organize and assign work to utilize employees' knowledge, skills, and abilities to the best advantage to expedite work schedules and obtain efficient work performance.Improves productivity throughout the plant through employee training, involvement in and implementation of lean manufacturing practices, and supporting implementation of the Business System goals and objectivesLeads employee training and employee meetings to keep lines of communication openEvaluate work performance and counsel and coach employees to maintain safe and efficient work performanceMaintain continual focus on reducing scrap to lower production costs as well as reduce possibility of shipping sub-standard product to customersEnsures that plant maintains a safe, clean and organized work environment through implementation and support of all aspects of 5SMaintain conformance with Company policies, work rules and regulations by coaching employees and/ or initiating disciplinary actions as requiredRequirementsMetals stamping background with hands-on experience operating equipmentSupervisor experience in manufacturing environmentAbility to multitask and prioritize work dutiesExperience in Lean Manufacturing techniquesKnowledge of requirements of TS 16949Ability to work well under pressureStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates strong leadership, motivation, and supervisory qualitiesAbility to manage priorities and demonstrate a high-level reactivity in critical situationsWorking ConditionsPhysical ability to lift and/ or move up to 50 poundsPosition will require sitting, walking or standing for at least 40 hours per weekOperate stamping equipment along with overhead crane and forkliftDuties may require bending, twisting and climbing ladders as neededMay be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturingFlexibility to work different shifts as necessaryOvertime as required.This job description is not all inclusive.
