Part-Time Meter ReaderWe have an exciting opportunity as a Part-Time Meter Reader to join our team!The successful candidate will read customer gas and water meters according to scheduled routes. Records readings on a hand-held computer. Watches for, investigates, and reports any gas and/or water leaks or other irregularities in meter service or Citizens Energy Group facilities. Works directly with customers to gain access to meters, resolve reading issues, and answers questions. Maintains a high read accuracy rate and read completion rate while minimizing customer inconvenience and complaints.Salary: Hourly Pay Rate: $18.65 can make up to $19.50 with incentivesWork Schedule Availability: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pmResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRead gas and water meters on scheduled routesCustomer Relations (problem solving)Driving of employee provided vehicleWatch for, investigate, and report gas and water leaks and irregularitiesClerical Work (mileage reports, time cards, update customer information in system)QualificationsRequired QualificationsMust have a High School diploma or GED equivalentMust possess a valid Indiana Drivers LicenseMust have reliable, insured transportation to perform daily, on-site, work duties.Must be available for training and have ability to work flexible part-time hoursMust possess strong oral and written communication skillsMust hold valid Indiana Drivers LicenseMust be able to work in inclement weather and other conditions including but not limited to lifting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing and pullingMust have a safe driving record including no history of serious traffic violations, accidents, suspensions/revocations, or DUI/DWI convictions within the last three years.Preferred Skills/QualificationsPrevious Delivery or Route experience is preferredPrevious Outside Work experience is preferredPrevious Customer Service experience is preferredFluent reading and speaking English and Spanish is a plusThe position will remain open until filled.Citizens is a drug-free, Equal Opportunity employer.
