Job TitleSystems EngineerJob DescriptionPinnacle Government Solutions is a minority-owned small business that provides Software, AI/ML, and Cloud Engineering Solutions for our Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Federal Civilian agencies. We bring SME-level expertise and over five decades of combined industry knowledge and Talent Acquisition experience. We are looking for a Systems Engineer that will be responsible for the applications infrastructure across all networks, technical support to make application security compliant, and tech precepts implementation. This position is contractually responsible to be part of a 24/7 on call rotation.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools.Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.Security & Redundancy: Implement and maintain robust security measures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.Automation & Scripting: Develop custom scripts to automate tasks and improve system efficiency.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network components.Collaboration: Work closely with developers, management, and other departments to understand requirements and deliver solutions.Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system architecture, procedures, and support.Technology Evaluation: Research and assess emerging technologies for potential upgrades or new implementations.Required SkillsActive TS/SCI clearance w/ polygraph.Experience: 2+ years of experience in system engineering, testing, or DevOps roles.CI/CD Knowledge: Proven experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix, version control (Git), and scripting languages (Python, Bash, or similar).Methodology: Familiarity with Agile development practices.Education: Bachelor's degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)Preferred SkillsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Experience with test frameworksDesired AttributesStrategic thinking and big-picture perspective.Strong time management and organizational skills.A passion for IT and continuous learning.
