Mig Welder 2nd Shift ManufacturingNSC Staffing has an immediate opening for a full time MIG Welder for manufacturing in a precision Sheet Metal Fabricating plant in Newport News, VA.Shift: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12am Pay rate: $17- $27.00A Precision Mig Welder will Fit and Weld sheet metal parts to the specifications of each job, and ensure they meet the outlined requirements. Specifications are gathered from work orders, customer drawings, sample parts, and/or completed assemblies. Materials to be welded are.060'' thick to 1/4'' thick. MUST have experience with light gauge material.Duties:Welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positionsUsing clamps to fit work pieces together accuratelyExamining work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with calipers, straightedges, templates, etc., to ensure conformance with specificationsWelding separately or in combination, using steel, aluminum, and other alloysClamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, grinding or bolting component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for weldingDetermining appropriate welding techniqueKeeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenanceProduce the maximum number of parts in minimum time by working efficientlyFollow company procedures and safety rulesRequirements:To be considered, Applicants for this position must:Have experience welding light gauge sheet metal in a production environmentBe able to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and vendors as neededBe able to lift up to 100 lbsBe able to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, reach and perform repetitive hand and finger movementsBe able to work in cold or hot temperatures in plantAt NSC Staffing our company culture is strong!
