Job description
Mig Welder - Level 2This role is responsible for performing MIG welding and related fabrication work on structural steel to build beams, columns, girders, and other components used in buildings and steel structures. The welder cuts and prepares steel, operates fabrication tools and equipment, and ensures all work meets established quality standards and specifications.Build and fabricate beams, columns, girders, and other structural members used in buildings and steel structures.Cut, position, and weld structural members in accordance with AWS standards and internal quality requirements.Perform MIG welding on structural steel components efficiently and accurately.Proficiency in MIG welding (GMAW) on structural steel.Ability to weld using FCAW (flux-cored arc welding) and GMAW (gas metal arc welding) processes.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, details, and weld symbols.Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16-inch increments.Ability to add and subtract fractions for precise layout and measurement.Ability to pass a 2G horizontal welding test.Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Comfort working in a loud, production-focused environment.Ability to work effectively in a team of two on the shop floor.Positive attitude and willingness to support team goals and continuous improvement.Employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and holidays to support work-life balance. The environment can be loud and is strongly results-driven, with a focus on productivity and quality. Work is typically performed in teams of two, encouraging collaboration and mutual support. Employees use industrial fabrication equipment, including bridge cranes, welding machines, cutting torches, plasma cutters, grinders, and drills. A consistent dress code is required, including hard hats, steel-toe footwear, and jeans at all times to maintain safety standards.This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
