nWe are hiring a dynamic Milieu Supervisor - 2nd shift for the Aspen House in Mendota Heights, MN! This role ensures high-quality care for youth and families through effective staff leadership, program coordination, and service delivery.
nThe Aspen House is a community-based facility for teens in Dakota and Washington counties who temporarily need a safe place to live. Youth in our care have private bedrooms and access to mental health and educational services during their stay and is staffed 24/7. We serve displaced youth ages 11-18 and pride ourselves on being a restraint-free facility. Aspen House not only provides temporary housing but also incorporates mental health assessments and services, recreational activities, educational instruction, coordination with outside supports, stabilization services, and on-going connections with family support systems.

nn$50,000 per year salary, exempt

n nPosition Summary: The Milieu Supervisor is responsible to provide trauma-informed milieu leadership and mentorship in the treatment guidance plans through effective communication, organization, and planning of the daily operations of the program and assigned unit.
nPrimary Responsibilities:
nTrauma-Informed Program Support
nnnDevelop staff schedules to maintain safe and effective client care.
n
nnCoordinate daily activities including transportation, family visits, and special events.
n
nnSupport staff in maintaining calm, therapeutic interactions with clients.
n
nnAssist in creating and implementing individualized client guidance plans.
n
n nDocumentation & Treatment Planning
nnnEnsure timely and accurate documentation of client and staff activities.
n
nnHelp improve program procedures for efficient and safe service delivery.
n
nnIdentify and resolve program challenges; support long-term improvements.
n
nnCollaborate with clinical teams on treatment plans and interventions.
n
n nAdmissions & Client Services
nnnWelcome new clients and families, ensuring all initial needs are met.
n
nnMonitor service delivery and promote family involvement.
n
nnTrack and manage youth needs (e.g., clothing, dietary, appointments).
n
nnAssign primary staff to youth for advocacy and communication.
n
nnParticipate in hiring and onboarding of trauma-informed staff.
n
n nStaff Supervision & Leadership
nnnMentor new staff and oversee training and shadowing.
n
nnProvide coverage during staff absences or emergencies.
n
nnCoach staff in trauma-informed care and intervention strategies.
n
nnManage timecards and conduct performance evaluations.
n
nnCollaborate with HR and leadership on staff development and discipline.
n
n nPolicy & Compliance
nnnModel and promote Nexus values and treatment approaches.
n
nnMaintain confidentiality and comply with privacy policies.
n
nnConduct safety inspections and address concerns promptly.
n
nnStay current on company policies, training, and certifications.
n
n nRequirements:
nRequired Education and Licensure:
nnnHigh School diploma or equivalent.
n
nnMinimum of two (2) years of experience working in a related industry.
n
nnMinimum of one (1) year supervisory experience required.
n
nnValid driver’s license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
n
n nPreferred Education and Experience:
nnnAssociate or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a clinically related field preferred.
n
nnMinimum of one (1) year of experience working with clients and families preferred.
