Milling Machine OperatorRequisition ID: 15679 Location: Clinton, MD, US, 20735 Pay Type: Hourly Position type: Full-time / Hourly Estimated Wage Range $25.00 - $27.00/HourlyAbout The RoleAmrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Milling Machine Operator in our Asphalt division. The asphalt milling machine operator is responsible for precisely removing existing pavement to the required depth and grade, ensuring a smooth, even surface in preparation for repaving.What You'll AccomplishOperate milling machines to remove asphalt and concrete surfaces to specified depths and gradesMonitor machine performance, material flow, and cutting depth to ensure smooth, even millingAdjust milling equipment settings to meet project specifications and surface requirementsCoordinate with paving crews, trucks, and other equipment operators to maintain workflowPerform daily inspections and routine maintenance on milling machineryIdentify and troubleshoot mechanical issues or surface inconsistencies during milling operationsFollow project plans, safety procedures, and traffic control requirements at all timesMaintain clean and organized work areas and ensure proper handling of milled materialDemonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areasPromote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviorsWhat We're Looking ForEducation: High school diploma or equivalentRequired Work Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating asphalt milling machines in the paving industryTravel Requirements: Daily travel required, Must have reliable transportationExpert understanding of milling techniques, equipment capabilities, and pavement surface requirementsAbility to read and interpret project plans, grades, and layout specifications with precisionSkilled in performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor mechanical adjustments on milling equipmentStrong coordination skills to work seamlessly with paving crews, dump trucks, and site supervisorsCommitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship while meeting production deadlinesAdherence to strict safety standards, including traffic control and job site protocolsTeam-oriented with good communication skills to work effectively with crew membersPrior experience in construction, paving, or general labor is a plus but not requiredStrong work ethic and a proactive attitude toward supporting the paving crewWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryRetirement Savings: Choose from 401(k) pre-tax and/or Roth after-tax savingsMedical, Dental, Disability and Life InsuranceHolistic Health & Well-being programsHealth Savings Accounts (HSAs) & Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for health and dependent careVision and other Voluntary benefits and discountsPaid time off & paid holidaysPaid Parental Leave (maternity & paternity)Educational Assistance Program
