Compensation: $90,000 and up DOE and skill level
Mining Americas Inc. is seeking a Mine Engineer – Junior to Intermediate Level to provide technical engineering support to mine operations. This is an excellent opportunity for either a recent Mining Engineering graduate looking to begin their career or an engineer with several years of experience ready to take on greater technical responsibility.
The Mine Engineer will work closely with Safety, Operations, Geology, Survey, Processing, Maintenance, and other technical personnel to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations.
What You’ll do
Assist with short- and medium-term mine planning, scheduling, design, and production forecasting
Prepare mine designs, layouts, maps, drawings, and other technical documentation
Monitor production performance and assist with reporting, reconciliation, and variance analysis
Provide engineering support related to mining sequences, equipment utilization, haulage, development, and operational requirements
Perform engineering calculations and assist with drill and blast planning, as applicable
Coordinate with Geology and Survey personnel to maintain accurate mine plans and current technical information
Conduct field inspections to verify mine conditions, production progress, and compliance with established plans
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, efficiency, recovery, and cost performance
Support technical studies, special projects, budgeting, forecasting, and operational evaluations
What We’re Looking For
Junior Level
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required
Recent graduates and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
Previous mining experience, internship, or co-op experience is preferred but not required
Intermediate Level
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a closely related engineering discipline required
Typically, 2-5 years of progressively responsible mining engineering experience
Experience in mine planning, production engineering, design, scheduling, or related technical functions preferred
The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, an understanding of mining and engineering fundamentals, and the ability to work effectively with both technical and operational teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is expected, and experience with mine planning, CAD, scheduling, or related engineering software is preferred.
This position combines office and field work in an active mining environment and requires a strong commitment to safe work practices and compliance with applicable MSHA and site requirements.

Work Environment
This position requires the ability to work in an active mine and process environment, including outdoor conditions and potential exposure to noise, airborne particles, chemicals, vibration, and changing weather conditions. The position requires frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and the use of appropriate PPE while working in production areas.
