What's the role?
The Mining Engineer reports to the Senior Mining Engineer, and is primarily accountable for providing, communicating, and implementing underground mine designs and schedules for Pogo Mine consistent with safe practices, government regulations, and production targets.
The specifics:
Generating and implementing underground drift and fill stope designs
Generating short- and medium-term production schedules
Presenting weekly production schedules to mine operations and geology departments
Establishing and monitoring mine ventilation network designs
Establishing and implementing paste backfill designs
Establishing and implementing ground control and support designs
Performing financial evaluations and cost analyses for operating and capital project justification
Identifying, communicating and assisting to resolve safety hazards
Performing other duties and projects as assigned
Other duties as required.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or another related field
Current Driver's License.
Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.
Desired Experience & Competencies
Prefer two years of technical experience in underground mining or tunneling.
Prefer experience and/or training in VentSim
