Music Director or Minister of Music
The church, located near the Harrison, NY, Metro-North station, seeks a part-time paid music director to lead worship and glorify the Lord God in song at a 1-hr, 10am Sunday service plus 3-4 special services per year.
The church uses blended music (both new and traditional) and, though small (averaging 50 on a Sunday), has a vigorous and rich music program including:
Praise band of 7
Adult choir of 10‑12 (includes one weeknight rehearsal)
Experienced orchestra of 20+ at Xmas and a Brass/Woodwind ensemble of 8‑10 at Easter
Instrumental soloists throughout the year
Job requires piano playing on all Sunday music except the Rodgers organ on final hymn (no pedal work needed)
Experienced backup pianist in the choir can play occasional Sundays off, and most/all of the summer if needed
The position is a Form 1099 position paid per diem:
Sunday service and prep -- $308
Weekly choir rehearsal and prep -- $180
Time on planning, communicating, arranging music -- $68/hr.
Total = $30,000-33,000 per year, depending on $68/hr. category
