Mixer/Maintenance AssistantA manufacturer of liquid feed supplements for animals is looking for a Mixer/Maintenance Assistant.Mixer/Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities:Batch, mix, and route feed according to specified formulas, procedures, and scheduleProperly weight all pre-mix additions according to specified formulas and add to the mixer at the appropriate timeReceive ingredient at the manufacturing facility and unload from barge, railcar and/or truckVisually inspect, sample, and perform Quality Control tests to ensure ingredient quality prior to and during unloadingPerform assigned routine and preventative maintenance as requiredEstablish and maintain a complete inventory of shop tools, spare equipment, essential repair parts, and maintenance suppliesInterpret and understand electrical, mechanical, air and hydraulic systems to trouble-shoot and diagnose problemsVisually inspect, sample, and perform Quality Control tests to ensure ingredient quality prior to and during unloading and notify management immediately of any out-of-specification conditionsSchedule & Pay:1st shift 8 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday, varies by season$21.00/HRMixer/Maintenance Assistant Qualifications:Manufacturing experience, preferredReading, writing, and mathematical skills at a high school levelMechanical aptitudeStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate with a variety of individuals in an appropriate mannerAbility to work in and promote a team environmentWillingness to work in all conditions of the weatherLocation: Grand Rapids, MIPosition Type: Evaluation Hire, Full Time
