Ready to build a meaningful career with us?We are seeking a Full Time Equipment Operator for our Haw River facility. The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various equipment within the operation including, but not limited to, Forklift and/or Skid Steers. The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating equipment in a safe and effective manner while maintaining the production. Routine inspections and preventative maintenance are also a requirement of the position. Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with equipment maintenance are strongly preferred in this role. A team attitude and willingness to learn are critical for success.Hours: 2nd Shift 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday - Friday, with extended hours as needed.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:Following all plant safety guidelinesOperating equipment in furtherance of the objectives of the facility Using forklifts to load/unload material from trailersUsing skid steers to move loose materials within the plant and load machineryEnsuring accuracy and quality of materials loaded on trailer is to the operation standardDocumenting inventory and activity including recording quantities and weightsPerforming pre- and post-trip inspections of mobile and stationary equipment that includes performing preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure that it is in proper and safe working order before and after each shiftAssisting with preventative maintenance tasks to support uptime and safe operation of all equipment when called uponIdentifying, troubleshooting, and reporting mechanical or operational issues on mobile and stationary equipmentPerforming basic mechanical maintenance and minor repairs as assigned (e.g., greasing, belt checks, fluid levels, adjustments)General plant housekeepingEducation/Experience:2+ years' experience operating skid steers, forklifts, or similar mobile equipmentFamiliarity with heavy industrial or recycling environments is a plusExperience performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting is strongly preferredExperience working in a fast-paced environmentRequired Skills & Competencies:High awareness of safety at all timesAbility to demonstrate proficient operation of forklift and/or skid steerBasic mechanical troubleshooting skillsAbility to perform or assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipmentComfort using basic hand toolsWillingness to learn additional mechanical skills through on-the-job trainingAbility to operate equipment properly and safelyStrict adherence to OSHA and company policies.The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a plant environment.
