Job description
A leading provider of optometric care for correctional facilities in Florida is seeking a Medical Optometrist to join its team. The organization serves 72 facilities and offers a flexible travel radius determined by the optometrist’s location. This opportunity is open to both part-time (1099) and full-time (W2 or 1099) employment.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive optometric care to inmates in correctional facilities
Travel to assigned facilities within a reasonable radius from your home base
Focus on medical optometry, managing a wide range of ocular diseases and urgent eye care needs
Maintain accurate records and comply with all facility and regulatory requirements
Compensation:
Florida-based full-time ODs can earn $400,000–$500,000 annually

Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
At least two years of recent medically-focused optometry experience, or the completion of residency training in ocular disease management, or similar, is required
New graduates must have completed relevant residency training
Comfortable working independently and traveling to multiple sites
Licensed (or eligible) to practice optometry in Florida
