About the job Mobile Optometrist - $1,000+ per diem - Florida
A leading provider of optometric care for correctional facilities in Florida is seeking a Mobile Optometrist to join its team. The organization serves 72 facilities and offers a flexible travel radius determined by the optometrist's location. This opportunity is open to both part-time (1099) and full-time (W2 or 1099) employment.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive optometric care to inmates in correctional facilities
Travel to assigned facilities within a reasonable radius from your home base
Focus on medical optometry, managing a wide range of ocular diseases and urgent eye care needs
Maintain accurate records and comply with all facility and regulatory requirements
Compensation: Minimum $1,000 per day
Average $1,500-$2,000 per day
Florida-based full-time ODs can earn $400,000-$500,000 annually

Qualifications: Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
Residency training preferred; non-residency candidates must have extensive medical optometry experience
No new graduates without residency training
Comfortable working independently and traveling to multiple sites
Licensed (or eligible) to practice optometry in Florida
