nPIRTEK, the nation’s leading provider for on-site hydraulic and industrial hose replacement is hiring for the position of Hose Installation Technician.
nJob Description:
nPIRTEK is looking to hire a Hose Installation Technician to service, assemble and install hoses for a diverse customer’s base such as manufacturing, construction, and rental companies, to name a few. We are looking for applicants with excellent communication and strong customer service skills. If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy meeting and working with customers, PIRTEK could be an excellent career path.
nAs a PIRTEK Hose Installation Technician, you will be operating out of a PIRTEK Service & Supply Center in a purpose-built mobile hose workshop/van and be carrying out service calls in the local area. This provides the opportunity to develop relationships with new and existing customers.
nSuccessful candidates will be fully trained to operate a purpose-built PIRTEK service truck fitted with specialized equipment designed to fabricate flexible hose assemblies on site.
nReplace a hose. Get a plant running again.
nWhen a hydraulic hose fails, everything stops. A production line, an excavator, a loader in the middle of a job. Somebody has to get there fast, build the right assembly on the spot, and get the machine back to work. That is what we do, and that is the job.
nWhat it pays
n$23.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on experience. Overtime is regular here, not occasional, and it is paid at time and a half.
n$50 on-call stipend every week you carry the phone, whether or not you get called
nTwo-hour minimum on every call-out, plus travel in both directions
nMonthly performance bonus based on the revenue your van generates above target
nAn experienced technician who works the overtime and hits the bonus should clear $70,000 in a full year.
nWhat you will do
nRespond to service calls at customer sites across central Ohio
nDiagnose the failure and identify the correct replacement assembly
nMeasure, cut, crimp, and build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies on site
nInstall, test, and return the customer's equipment to service
nKeep your van stocked, clean, and inspected
nBuild relationships with the customers on your route
nTake your turn in the after-hours on-call rotation
nStraight talk about the on-call
nThis is an emergency service business. Hoses fail at night and on weekends, and when they do, someone goes. You will be on call roughly one week in three. You are paid the stipend for carrying the phone even on a quiet week, and every call-out pays a minimum of two hours plus travel, at overtime rates when you are over 40.
nYou will also be out in the weather year-round, and you will get dirty. That is the job. Some people find that a good deal. Some people do not. We would rather you know now.
nWhat we are looking for
nMechanically inclined — you like figuring out how things work and fixing them
nValid driver's license and a clean driving record
nComfortable talking to customers, because you are the whole company as far as they are concerned
nSelf-motivated, because most of the day nobody is watching over your shoulder
nAble to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet
nWilling to carry the on-call phone
nHigh school diploma or GED
nHydraulic experience is not required. We will train you. If you have wrenched on diesel, fleet, ag, or construction equipment, or worked in industrial maintenance, you already have most of what you need.
nWhat else you get
nCompany service van, with take-home available
nPIRTEK certified training — paid, and yours to keep
nUniforms provided
nPaid time off — one week your first year, two weeks after that — plus six paid holidays
nHealth benefit: we put $400 a month, tax-free, toward the health plan you pick — worth more than $400 of wages, because it never gets taxed. You own the plan, so you keep it if you ever leave here. We help you enroll.
nDental and vision — employer-paid group coverage
nAdvancement. Technicians may have opportunity to move into other service management and operations roles. Some PIRTEK technicians have gone on to own franchises.
nAbout us
nPIRTEK Marion is locally owned and operated, and we are opening our Delaware service center this fall. You would be one of our first technicians — training starts in October, ahead of opening.
nWe are backed by a national franchise network, which means real training and real standards without working for a faceless company. The owner answers the phone. We care about doing the job right, telling the truth about what happened, and getting people home safe at the end of the day.
nThis franchise is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Your application will go directly to the franchisee, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this franchisee. All inquiries about employment at this franchisee should be made directly to the franchise location, and not to PIRTEK Corporate.
