Job description
Mold SetterThis role focuses on setting up, changing over, and handling molds and dies in a manufacturing environment. You will use your mechanical aptitude to support plastic and rubber injection molding operations, ensuring equipment runs safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Candidates from mechanical, automotive, construction, or other hands-on technical backgrounds who are eager to learn and grow in advanced manufacturing are encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesSet up, install, and remove molds and dies on molding and related production equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Perform tooling changeovers to support different production runs and product changes.Handle molds and dies carefully to prevent damage and ensure proper alignment and fit during installation.Assist with plastic injection molding, rubber injection molding, and plastic extrusion setups as needed.Inspect molds, dies, and tooling components for wear, damage, or defects and report issues promptly.Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime during mold and die changes.Use mechanical skills and tools to adjust, secure, and troubleshoot equipment during setup and changeover.Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while working with machinery and heavy tooling.Maintain a clean and organized work area around molding machines and tooling storage.Support continuous improvement efforts by suggesting ways to streamline mold and die changeover processes.Essential SkillsStrong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and machinery.Experience in mold setting, die setting, or similar mechanical setup roles in manufacturing (preferred).Background in mechanical work such as automotive mechanics, construction, or other hands-on technical trades.Ability to perform tooling changeovers and handle molds and dies safely.Familiarity with plastic injection molding, rubber injection molding, or plastic extrusion (preferred).Capability to follow detailed procedures and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and technologies related to molding operations.Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a production setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrior experience as a Mold Setter or Die Setter.Experience with plastic injection molding processes.Experience with rubber injection molding operations.Experience with plastic extrusion equipment.Hands-on experience with tooling changeovers in a production environment.Experience in mold and die handling, including safe lifting and securing practices.Mechanical or construction background that demonstrates strong problem-solving and hands-on skills.Why Work Here?You will join a growing manufacturer that offers strong job stability and a hands-on environment with low micromanagement, allowing you to take ownership of your work.
