nGENERAL FUNCTION :
nPerforms a wide range of duties relating to the origination of residential 1st mortgage loans for outside referrals. Meets standards and objectives defined by management for mortgage loan sales One Bank objectives . Assumes overall responsibility for the residential mortgage loan from application to closing.
nResponsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying , assessing,
nmanaging, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
nnnWorks with sales leadership and assigned Senior Loan Originator to develop both internal and external referral contacts (realtors, builders, professional , COIs and persona l ).
n
nnWorks with sales leadership and assigned Senior Loan Originator to lear n and master all aspects and components of the mortgage loan originator position.
n
nnThis would include , but not limited to, agency and portfolio guidelines, processing, underwriting, closing, and pricing procedures.
n
nnMaintain knowledge of Fifth Third Mortgage Company's policies and procedures, available loan products, processing procedures, and underwriting and general departmental guidelines . C ompletes all required training on time.
n
nnFollow defined protocol for escalation underwriting and pricing exceptions.
n
nnTake applications by completing URLA on laptop.
n
nnUtilize available technology and support for communication and access of daily rates, applicant credit reports , origination of loan files and uploading of files to operations .
n
nnCollect appropriate documentation from applicant (s) and deliver loan package in the time frames set by management.
n
nnWork with sales leadership and assigned Senior Loan Originator to manage pipeline for all originated loans through closing.
n
nnCommunicate appropriately and timely with branches and/or applicants providing updates and status reports.
n
nnMaintain high levels of customer service while managing each applicant's and Fifth Third expectations.
n
nnAttend and participate in all Mortgage and Consumer Lending sales meetings , calls and training as required by management .

nnCollect application fees on loan applications per policy.
n
nnParticipate in One Bank making appropriate referrals to other lines of business.

n nMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
nnnHigh school diploma or equivalent mandatory. Four-year college degree preferred.
n
nnDemonstrated organizational skills.

nnStrong written and verbal communications skills.

nnDemonstrated teamwork and customer service skills.

nnAbility to maintain an intense optimism and focus on achieving goals even under adversity.

nnThis position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). The NMLS web site mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
