Job description
JCW Search is partnering with a well-established regional bank in Connecticut to hire a Mortgage Underwriter for its residential lending team. The bank has strong community roots and a growing mortgage platform.
What you'll do:
Underwrite residential mortgage loans (conventional, jumbo, and portfolio products) in line with agency and bank guidelines
Analyze credit, income, assets, and collateral to make sound lending decisions
Partner with loan officers and processors to keep files moving and deliver a great borrower experience
Ensure compliance with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and regulatory requirements
What we're looking for:
3+ years of residential mortgage underwriting experience, ideally in a bank or credit union setting
Strong knowledge of DU/LP and agency guidelines
Self-employed borrower and tax return analysis experience a plus
Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a collaborative, community-focused environment
