Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Motor Grader Operator Tech III to join our construction team. This position is responsible for operating motor graders to perform high-precision rough and finish grading, setting accurate elevations and drainage, and supporting crew leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Job Requirements
Operate motor graders to perform advanced rough and finish grading
Set and maintain precise line, grade, slope, and drainage per project plans
Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, grade stakes, and elevations
Perform fine-grade work for subgrade, base, and finish surfaces
Utilize GPS, laser, and conventional grade control systems
Calculate grades, elevations, and slopes to ensure accuracy and compliance
Coordinate with foremen, survey crews, and other operators to maintain workflow
Identify and correct grading issues in the field
Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
Ensure compliance with OSHA, site safety requirements, and company policies
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
Lead by example and assist in training or mentoring less experienced operators
Job Qualifications 5+ years of experience operating a motor grader
Proven experience with finish grading and complex grading work
Strong ability to read and understand plans, grade stakes, and elevations
Experience using GPS and laser grading systems
Salary
$62,400 - $70,720
