MPI Exeter - Machinist IIIMPI Exeter is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Machinist III to join our manufacturing team in Exeter, California. In this advanced technical role, you will operate precision machining equipment, manage complex production schedules, and maintain the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.Operate and maintain CNC mills, lathes, and conventional machining equipment to produce precision components according to specificationsRead, interpret, and analyze technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements and tolerancesPerform precision machining operations on various materials, ensuring components meet exact specifications and quality standardsConduct thorough quality inspections and measurements using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gaugesTroubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtimePerform routine maintenance and calibration of machine tools to ensure optimal performance and accuracyOptimize machining processes and tool selection to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivityMaintain detailed production records, work logs, and documentation for traceability and quality assurance purposesCollaborate with engineering, production planning, and quality assurance teams to resolve technical issues and improve processesAdhere to all workplace safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards to maintain a secure work environmentQualificationsMinimum 5+ years of hands-on experience operating a Haas - Mazak - Siemens Okama, CNC and conventional machining equipment in a manufacturing environment.Leadership skillsAdvanced proficiency in CNC programming and multi-axis machining operationsOperate both mills and lathes with CNC controlsStrong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications with precisionDemonstrated expertise in precision measurement techniques and quality control standardsSolid understanding of mechanical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance proceduresProficiency with precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machinesKnowledge of manufacturing processes, material properties, and machining tolerancesFamiliarity with CAD/CAM software and digital machining systemsExcellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficientlyStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detailPreferred experience with tool design, fixture design, or process optimizationPreferred knowledge of metallurgy basics and material selection for machining applicationsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentCommitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work areaPerforms other duties as directedHourly Rate: $35.00-$36.00Excellent benefits include 9 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays, 3 weeks vacation, a weekly pay schedule, 401k and company health insurance plans, Education Assistance, a Wellness Program, and an Employee Assistance Program.
