Integration Engineer - IBM MQ/MFT | Location: Hybrid | Contract | Hourly Pay Range $55-$65

We are seeking a highly skilled Integration Engineer with extensive experience in IBM MQ and Managed File Transfer (MFT) within enterprise environments. This role involves supporting critical, high‑availability infrastructure across cloud and Linux platforms, ensuring secure, reliable messaging and file transfer operations in a regulated setting.

You will lead the administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of IBM MQ and MFT systems, implement automation using Infrastructure as Code tools, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain system integrity and performance. Your expertise will help ensure seamless integration and operational excellence in a complex, mission‑critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, configure, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot IBM MQ and MFT infrastructure to support enterprise messaging needs.

Support and optimize cloud and Linux environments, including AWS and RHEL, for high availability and performance.

Execute and validate infrastructure changes following formal change management and compliance procedures.

Test and validate patches, fixes, and updates for MQ and RHEL prior to deployment in production.

Perform AWS infrastructure operations, including system rehydration and environment management.

Validate automated build, deployment, and CI/CD pipeline outputs, ensuring consistency and reliability.

Support Infrastructure as Code and automation initiatives using tools such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Troubleshoot alerts and system anomalies, elevate critical issues, and participate in incident response and root cause analysis.

Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and validation records.

Collaborate with engineering, security, compliance, and architecture teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

Participate in a rotational on‑call schedule to support 24/7 system availability.

Required Qualifications

5–10 years of recent, hands‑on experience as an MQ Architect, Integration Engineer, or MQ Administrator.

Deep expertise in IBM MQ, including configuration, troubleshooting, high‑availability, and security.

Proven experience with IBM MFT, managing secure file transfers, encryption, error handling, and monitoring.

Strong background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and troubleshooting.

Production experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, security groups, and networking.

Demonstrated ability to implement formal change management in regulated, high‑availability environments.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform, Packer, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, and pipeline validation.

Knowledge of high availability, load balancing, and failover architectures.

Proficiency in Python scripting, JSON, YAML, and Boto3 for automation and monitoring.

Experience with source control tools such as GIT or SVN.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision‑making skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

AWS certifications and extensive hands‑on experience with AWS services like ELB, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda, and SFTP.

Practical knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodologies in cloud environments.

Familiarity with MQ Salesforce Bridge, Grafana, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.

Experience designing and managing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure.

Knowledge of API development, SOA, and web server architecture in enterprise settings.
