Job description
Role: MRI Technologist I, with potential for advancement to MRI Technologist II based on skills and experience.
Responsibilities:
Perform and assist with magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring proper patient identification, preparation, and clinical history documentation.
Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to safety principles like ALARA to ensure patient safety and image quality.
Prepare, administer, and document medications in compliance with laws and policies.
Evaluate images for accuracy and quality, verify data transfer, and assist with post-processing as needed.
Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying MRI safety protocols to minimize risks.
Support licensed practitioners with MRI procedures and interventional techniques, including selecting pulse sequences and ensuring safety compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Certification from ARRT, NMTCB, ARMRIT, or equivalent upon hire; new graduates must obtain certification prior to employment.
Knowledge of MRI safety standards and procedures.
Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain safety and quality standards.
Key Duties: Ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and compliance with protocols; support education efforts; and assist with MRI procedures in a clinical environment.
