Job description
Music professionals apply their expertise in instrumental performance, composition, and music production to evaluate AI-generated music content and create expert training data across musical styles, traditions, and cultures.
Key Responsibilities Review AI-generated responses for musical accuracy, relevance, and quality.
Use hands-on professional knowledge and the tools used in daily practice to provide detailed feedback and expert-level training data.
Help improve AI understanding of music through expertise in performance, composition, or production.
Qualifications Master’s degree or higher required, with a DMA strongly preferred.
Background in composition, jazz performance, guitar performance, commercial music, or instrumental performance, such as saxophone or trumpet.
Strong instrumental-performance background; performance-focused degrees are preferred over musicology or ethnomusicology.
Experience with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton is helpful but not required.
Strong written communication, close attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
No prior AI experience is required.
Work Terms Remote, flexible hourly contract work with an asynchronous schedule and no minimum-hour requirement.
Contributors typically work about 5 to 20 hours per week while assigned to an active project.
Project placement depends on current needs, and qualified applicants may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation Up to $100/hr (depending on the project).
Eligibility F-1 students eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm eligibility.
If your school requires a CPT course, this work may not meet the school’s requirements.
STEM OPT is not supported.
