Scismic is supporting an exciting company looking for a hands‑on scientist or engineer to support the manufacturing of SPIONs used in regulated applications. This role focuses on nanoparticle synthesis, surface modification, and maintaining high‑quality, reproducible production within a GMP environment.
What You’ll Do
Perform iron oxide nanoparticle formation using controlled solution chemistry and inert‑gas reaction conditions.
Apply stabilizing surface coatings and manage colloidal behavior.
Run end‑to‑end batch production using reactors, separation systems, and analytical tools.
Evaluate particle size, charge, coating integrity, and magnetic response.
Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with QA, Operations, and Engineering.
Support scale‑up efforts and mentor junior team members.
What You Bring
Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Direct experience synthesizing iron‑oxide or similar nanoparticles.
Knowledge of colloid stability, surface chemistry, and dispersion.
Familiarity with GMP or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience with nanoparticle characterization (e.g., DLS, zeta potential, ICP).
Location: On‑site in Wilmington, DE (lab + cleanroom).
