Optimize receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, staging, shipping, and returns processes.

Improve warehouse productivity, space utilization, labor efficiency, and throughput.

Establish consistent warehouse operating standards and best practices across all locations.

Evaluate warehouse capacity requirements and support decisions regarding expansion, consolidation, relocation, or third-party warehousing.

Ensure appropriate equipment, technology, staffing, and infrastructure are available to meet operational requirements.

Systems & Technology

Lead the effective use of ERP, inventory management, and related technology systems.

Improve system accuracy and ensure transactions are completed correctly and on time.

Identify opportunities for automation, scanning, barcode/RFID technology, reporting, and data analytics.

Partner with IT and business teams on system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvements.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Establish national KPIs and dashboards for inventory and warehouse performance.

Analyze operational data and identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, or other appropriate methodologies.

Develop and implement corrective action plans for recurring operational issues.

Benchmark warehouse and inventory performance across locations and share best practices.

Safety, Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure all warehouse and inventory operations comply with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with workplace safety requirements.

Establish controls to minimize inventory loss, theft, damage, and operational risk.

Ensure appropriate documentation, audit controls, and inventory records are maintained.

Support internal and external audits as required.

Vendor & 3PL Management

Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, warehouse service providers, and other operational vendors.

Establish service-level expectations, KPIs, and performance reviews.

Negotiate and manage service agreements in partnership with Procurement and other stakeholders.

Monitor vendor performance, costs, quality, and compliance.
