National Rental Customer Development Manager
The National Rental Customer Development Manager is responsible for an assigned book of existing national rental accounts. This role focuses on keeping these customers satisfied and retaining them. This is a 100% sales position. The purpose of this role is to retain and grow current national rental customers, increase wallet share and get more trucks on the road. The NRCDM will improve the profitability of current national rental accounts and meet or exceed assigned quotas for revenue growth and retention.
The assigned book is made up of national rental customers headquartered in the West and Central regions. The position can be based remotely, and candidates located within the West or Central regions are preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Base pay: $70,000/year plus Uncapped Commission
Commission earning potential: Realistic first year earnings average around ~$115,000
Mileage reimbursement for all business travel

Sales Territory
An existing book of top national rental accounts headquartered in the West and Central regions
Remote position with significant travel; candidates based in the West or Central regions are preferred
Travel
60% to 75% travel, with frequent overnight travel. On average, you will spend two out of every three weeks on the road meeting with customers.
Essential Functions
Manages a book of approximately 100 top national rental accounts
Grows wallet share and revenue within assigned national rental accounts
Develops sales plans and a communication plan for each assigned account
Schedules and leads customer meetings and builds strong relationships at all levels of the customer organization
Attends customer events and trade shows for applicable industries within the territory
Completes annual business reviews with assigned customers
Analyzes the profitability of assigned national rental accounts and fully understands the competitive influences and risks within each account
Partners with Rental Account Managers (RAMs) to develop their skill sets and help them grow into higher level salespeople

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Marketing or equivalent experience
Experience
Five (5) years or more of experience
Demonstrated consecutive Sales Excellence (quota achievement) in prior sales roles
Prior experience as a Rental Manager, Rental Account Manager (RAM) or Business Development Manager (BDM) on the lease side preferred
Skills
Highly self-motivated with a high degree of initiative; able to find and act on opportunities to strengthen customer relationships without day-to-day direction
Highly organized, able to multi-task, with excellent time management skills
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to create and maintain professional relationships at all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers and supervisors)
Ability to coach and develop others
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team spread across the country
Flexibility and the drive to excel in a fast-paced environment
Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
Knowledge
Knowledge of Ryder rental products and operations preferred

Compensation Information
The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
