Job description
A rewarding opportunity awaits a skilled neonatal perinatal professional in an inpatient setting in Eureka, CA. This locum tenens position focuses on providing care to NICU patients and pediatric cases, requiring a pediatric hospitalist with neonatology experience or a neonatologist at ease with pediatric patients. The role involves covering 24-hour call shifts across various dates, encompassing neonatal intensive care and pediatric management duties.

Schedule: Call only, 24-hour beeper call
Patient Population: NICU patients down to 32 weeks, about 80% NICU and 20% pediatrics
Location: Eureka, CA

Job Responsibilities Provide inpatient care focused mainly on NICU patients and some pediatrics
Neonatal airway management, including intubation
Performing procedures like emergent UVC placement and needle decompression
Manage neonatal ventilation and air leak cases
Qualifications Active CA medical license and DEA
Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency
Certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP required
Working Hours 24-hour call shifts
Multiple dates available; see specified schedule for details
Skills Proficient in EKG interpretation
Experienced in neonatal care practices such as UVC/UAC placement and lumbar punctures
Preferred skills include ventilator management and chest tube insertion
