Job description
A healthcare facility in New Jersey is seeking a Neonatology Advanced Practice Provider / Neonatologist for locum tenens coverage in a Level II Special Care Nursery.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day or Nights
Hours: 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am
Setting: Inpatient Level II Special Care Nursery
Responsibilities: Provide coverage for the well-baby nursery and Level II Special Care Nursery
Attend Cesarean-section deliveries and high-risk vaginal deliveries as needed
Perform neonatal resuscitation and assess newborns with clinical concerns
Complete overnight rounds and coordinate care with nursing staff
Arrange transfers for newborns requiring a higher level of care and support transport when needed
Qualifications: Board-certified or board-eligible, as applicable
Appropriate neonatal training and experience
Proficiency and confidence in neonatal resuscitation
Ability to practice independently with physician backup available by phone
Flexibility to work days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and potential 24-hour shifts
Desired Skills: Experience working in a Level II Special Care Nursery
Familiarity with Epic
Experience supporting neonatal transport and transfer coordination
Availability for urgent or emergency coverage
