Job description
Coverage: Per Diem / Day & Night Coverage
Practice Setting: Level III NICU
Schedule:
Day: 7:30 AM 5:00 PM 2 Neonatologists
Night: 5:00 PM 7:30 AM 1 in-house Neonatologist
Coverage needed December 30, December 31, 2026, and January 1, 2027
NICU / Patient Volume:
40-bed Level III NICU
2025 YTD NICU admissions: 130
Average NICU daily census: 14.3
Nursery daily census: 24.2
Services / Procedures:
High-frequency ventilation (HFOV & HFJV)
Inhaled nitric oxide
Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
Pediatric surgical patients
Nurse-driven transport team with physician oversight
No ECMO or cardiac surgery, except PDA ligations
Requirements:
Board Certified in Neonatology
Recent Neonatology experience
At least 6 months of clinical experience in the specialty
Must have been clinically active within the past year
Virginia medical license
