About the Facility This hospital is seeking a nephrologist for locum tenens coverage to support inpatient nephrology services. The facility maintains the clinical staffing and resources necessary to support 24-hour call-based nephrology coverage, with 3 RNs on site to assist the clinician throughout the assignment. Established protocols are in place to facilitate dialysis management and nephrology consultations across the inpatient setting.

About the Clinician's Workday This locum tenens assignment requires a nephrologist to provide 24-hour call coverage on Thanksgiving Day, with 4 hours of on-site time designated for rounding, consults, and dialysis management. The clinician will manage 8 patients per shift, with clinical duties encompassing hemodialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), and peritoneal dialysis. Additional responsibilities include the management of post-renal transplant patients and performance of procedures including renal biopsy, hemodialysis catheter placement, and peritoneal dialysis catheter placement.
