Job Description
BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a .NETApplications Architect position. The position is located in Tallahassee, FL andwork is onsite.
.NETApplications Architect
Responsibilities:
Design anddocument end to end application architectures using the Microsoft .NETecosystem.
Define solutionpatterns, including monolithic, modular monolith, microservices, and eventdriven approaches.
Establisharchitectural standards, reference architectures, and design guidelines.
Evaluate andrecommend technology stacks and frameworks.
Providetechnical leadership and guidance to development teams.
Review code,pull requests, and design artifacts for architectural compliance.
Ensure adherenceto SOLID principles, clean architecture, and best practices.
Support CI/CDpipeline integration and deployment strategies.
Assess existingsystems and recommend modernization approaches.
Guide migrationsfrom legacy JCL, COBOL, and FOCUS technologies to .NET.
Identify andprioritize technical debt remediation.
Supportrefactoring strategies without disrupting business operations.
Produce andmaintain architectural diagrams and technical documentation.
Document designdecisions and tradeoffs using architecture decision records.
Supportonboarding and mentoring of internal technical staff.
Participate inarchitecture reviews and governance forums.
Analyze anddocument existing computing assets, including technical specifications andestablished business rules.
Assist withdebugging and troubleshooting existing processes, including root cause analysisand issue resolution.
Provide guidanceand assistance with remediating and upgrading legacy assets, coordinating withbusiness analysts, developers, and product owners, and participating in codeand design reviews.
Performknowledge transfer with technical staff.
Produce solutionarchitecture diagrams and documentation.
Providetechnology and design recommendations.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science,Software Engineering, or a related field. Professional work experience maysubstitute on a year for year basis for a degree.
Minimum of 7years of experience across multiple IT areas and 2 to 3 years of relevantarchitecture experience.
Advanced toexpert knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems designand integration, specifically .NET.
Must be able to applycommon knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
o CleanArchitecture and Domain Driven Design.
o API design andintegration patterns.
o Web applicationdevelopment and front end frameworks.
o Azure DevOpstools such as Application Insights, Key Vault, and Blob Storage.
o Data accessoptimization and performance tuning.
o Performancetuning and scalability.
o Reliability andfault tolerance.
o Logging,monitoring, and observability.
o EntityRelationship Diagrams.
o Documenting andcommunicating technical requirements.
o Coordinatingwith Business Analysts to capture business requirements.
Knowledge of theSCRUM Framework.
Knowledge offinancial systems such as an ERP.-
Ability tobridge the gap between technical and business language.
Preferred:
C# or ASP.NETCore.
Web APIs andRESTful services.
Entity Frameworkor other ORM frameworks.
.NET Frameworkand modern .NET, including .NET 6 or later.
CI/CD pipelines,including Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
