nJob Summary
nMohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is currently seeking a BE/BC neonatologist to join our established team at the Wynn Hospital — a brand-new, 374 bed, state of the art hospital in Utica, NY. If you are interested in an active practice with a good variety of pathology, frequent procedures, while being able to focus on family-centered care, then this is the practice for you.
nPosition Highlights
nnnLevel 2+ NICU admitting down to 30weeks gestation
n
nnOver 200 admissions per year, ADC of 8, and a census that can flex up to 13
n
nnFamily centered care with single patient rooms
n
nnDiverse pathology

nnWork/life balance with week on - week off schedule
n
nnCall room allows for either local or remote living opportunities
n
nnUnit is supported by neonatal-trained speech, occupational, and physical therapists.
n
nnPediatric sub specialists are available by phone consultation, including pediatric cardiology.

nnROP exams performed by in- house retinal specialist
n
nnExcellent and well-trained nursing staff
n
nnAttends c/sections and high risk deliveries; newborn nursery covered by pediatric hospitalist
n

nnMust be BE/BC in neonatology

n nEducation/Experience Requirements
nREQUIRED:
nnnMedical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and successful completion of a residency and internship.
n
nnExperience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified, which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty.
n
nnKnowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
n
nnAbility to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
n
nnKnowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
n
nnAbility to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and/or students in area of expertise.
n
nnKnowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
n
nnAbility to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
n
nnKnowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.
n
nnAbility to work both independently and in a team environment.
n
nnKnowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
n
nnAbility to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
n
nnEffective verbal and written communication skills.
n
n nLicensure/Certification Requirements
nREQUIRED:
nnnCurrent NYS Certification/Licensure
n
nnFederal DEA Certification
n
nnBoard certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty, Medical Specialty License or Certification if applicable
