As a Resident I Graduate Nurse in Critical Care, you'll deliver precise, detail-focused care to patients facing serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses and injuries. You’ll develop expertise in managing potent IV drips, analyzing complex labs, and operating advanced life-sustaining equipment such as ventilators, ECMO and CRRT machines. You will work with greater autonomy from standing physician orders and protocols. You’ll also support patients and families - helping them understand prognoses, cope with fear and grief, and engage in end-of-life conversations when applicable. You will always be learning – from evidence-based practices surrounding ICU protocols and procedures to medical technology – as critical care is always advancing. If you are a strong critical thinker, an adept learner, a deeply compassionate caregiver, and are able to remain calm under pressure, the ICU may be the right fit for you.
Patient Care Delivery: As a Resident I Graduate Nurse, you will implement nursing care plans under the supervision of an experienced Registered Nurse in a high-quality, empathetic, and patient-centered manner.
Documentation: Document observations, interactions and patient responses and report to your assigned RN, RN Preceptor, Clinical Nurse Coordinator or Charge Nurse.
Patient Education: You will educate patients on their treatment plans, diagnoses, medications, possible side effects, follow-up measures and more.
Clinical Excellence: You will engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience and patient outcomes, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
What qualifications you will need:
Authorization to Test - NCLEX-RNBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateNCLEX Examination Appointment Confirmation(RN) Registered Nurse must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
