Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for BC/BE pediatricians to work as newborn hospitalists at our busy, diverse, multispecialty neonatology practice in the North Dallas area. Our pediatricians are part of a team that includes in-house neonatologists along with our affiliated group of neonatal nurse practitioners, developmental pediatricians, cardiologists, MFMs and pediatric surgeons who provide comprehensive newborn services at multiple hospitals.
Details
Provide 10-hour, in-house coverage in the newborn nursery and on call from home in the evening
Responsibilities include admissions and management of infants in the newborn nursery, delivery attendance, transitional care, circumcisions and consultations with families
Provide Level-I to Level-II newborn care at Methodist Richardson Medical Center where there is an average daily census between 10‑15 babies, and Texas Health Presbyterian Rockwall Medical Center with approximately 10 babies
Neonatologist assistance/backup is provided as needed and in all high‑risk situations
Flexibility with interest in learning and a desire to teach are highly valued
