Job description
Night CustodianVerona Schools seeks a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Night Custodian at F. N. Brown School. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a commitment to keeping all areas of the school in excellent condition during the night shift.Responsibilities:Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.Empty trash receptacles and replace liners, ensuring proper disposal of waste.Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring all fixtures are in working order and stocked with necessary supplies.Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, parking lots, and playgrounds, ensuring they are free of debris and hazards.Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for school events and activities as needed.Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.Follow established cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to maintain a positive and productive working environment.Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.Good physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects as needed.Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred.Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and visitors.Background check and clearance required prior to employment.
