Job Description
JOB TITLE: Head Athletic Coach – Women's Tennis
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director and Principal
SALARY:
Based on State and Local Salary Schedule
STATUS: 10 months
SUMMARY: The Head Athletic Coach is responsible for overseeing the women’s tennis program, ensuring compliance with athletic policies, and supporting student‑athletes in both athletic and academic success.
Responsibilities & Duties
Apply and enforce Caswell County Schools athletic policies, state, and conference regulations.
Establish program philosophy, skills, and techniques; lead staff training and professional development.
Supervise staff and assistant coaches, evaluate performance, and provide guidance.
Maintain discipline, address grievances, and promote student‑athlete conduct and grades.
Coordinate logistics for practices, games, and events; manage facility use and equipment.
Ensure compliance with physical examination, parental consent, and eligibility requirements.
Implement injury and emergency protocols; submit required paperwork within 24 hours.
Handle equipment inventory, protect school property, and manage equipment rooms.
Recruit and promote the sport, maintain public relations, and facilitate media releases.
Minimum Education, Experience and Requirements
Meet requirements of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and Caswell County Board of Education.
Teacher license and employment as a teacher by the Caswell County Board of Education preferred.
Prior successful coaching experience in women’s tennis.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong administrative and organizational abilities; thorough knowledge of athletic policy and legal statutes.
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
